RAD Ballet

The Dance Empire studies the RAD ballet syllabus.   With over 13,000 members’ spread across 83 countries, The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the largest and most influential dance education and training organisations in the world.   Students will develope technique, disipline and poise as ballet is the foundation of all styles of dance.

Hip Hop

Hip hop classes have become increasingly popular in recent years.  Our classes allow students to learn the most current styles of hip hop featured on film clips.

Cheerleading

Learn all the fundamentals of cheerleading.  This class includes a vibrant mix of dance, kicks, jumps, cheers and stunting.

Tiny Tots

Little Groovers- Jazz is the most popular style of dance at most dance studios as it uses current music that kids enjoy.  We use age appropriate songs for preschoolers to not only learn  about music and movement but also to grow and make friends.  

 

Fairy Ballet-  This is a stepping stone into the RAD ballet syllabus.  Students will learn the basics of ballet while having fun with props and letting their imagination run wild.

Tiny Tappers- This class introduces students to rhythm, musicality and co-ordination.  Students will learn basic tap skills using themes and fun songs.

​

Acro Tots- The Acro Dance Pre School program is designed to teach locomotive skills (jumping, hoping, etc), balance skills, movement concepts, cooperation and social skills. The magic is in the repetition, the report cards, coloring pages, imaginary play, fun and games. 

​

Dance with me- is designed for children aged 18months – 3 years and their caregivers to explore the world of dance side by side. It's a fantastic opportunity to share the love of movement, express creativity, and make lasting memories together

Tap

A fun and rhythmical form of dance encouraging both musicality and co-ordination. Using clarity in sound, energy and dynamic, Tap builds on a percussive style that can accentuate rhythms, or make music of its own.

The Dance Empire teaches the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus.

Contemporary

Our class is a mixture of lyrical and contemporary style of dance.  This class teaches students various body isolations and control to a variety of tempos. Students are encouraged to express their own style and use their strength and flexibility to achieve unusual dance movement. Strength, control and improved musical rhythms are developed.

Belly Dancing

Want to shake your hips like Shakira? Learn basic bellydance technique from the ground up, then refine the moves with drills and light combinations. Focus will be on proper posture, muscle use, simple foot patterns, and basic rhythms

Jazz

A modern and energetic style of dance for all ages that combines popular music with strong and dynamic movement. Jazz at The Dance Empire builds on the already vast variety of styles by continuing to incorporate choreography that is innovative and entertaining. Jazz classes offer a unique and fun program that promotes both fitness and flexibility.

Acrobatics

Students are taught various acrobatic skills that can be used in dance routines. Forward/backward walk-overs, front and back flips, cartwheels with and without hands are the type of skills concentrated on. A great high energy class that improves overall strength and flexibility in the upper and lower body.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is a dance style that includes dance technique and acting to songs from broadways and musicals.  This class will help your child develop character development, chorus singing, stage presence and dance skills useful in the musical theatre and entertainment industry.

Performance Opportunities

​

Concert – held annually in Term 4 at Plumpton Performing Arts Centre. A spectacular and diverse showcase of talent and creativity, this is a great opportunity for students to turn practice into performance! Our favourite time of year – we love to see our students shine and celebrate their hard work! 

​

Eisteddfod Team – Our eisteddfod classes are by invitation only and  provide a great foundation for the aspiring performer. Students are selected on their high standard of technique and performance, as well as self-discipline and commitment. 

​

Dance Tours – The Dance Empire offers students the opportunity to travel to perform and participate in master classes and workshops with industry professionals. Students recently travelled to the Gold Coast and performed at Dreamworld.  

​

Events-  We provide many opportunity for our students to perform at events during the year.  Recently our students have had the privilege to perform  at NRL football games, the Sydney Royal Easter Show and the Blacktown Festival.
